How can I tell which wheel bearing has gone bad?
I have a 2003 Olds Alero and one of the front whell bearings is going bad. I can replace it myself but forgot how to tell which one it is.
While driving and turn the wheel to the left, I hear the rub and grind sound. When I turn to the right it makes just a little bit of sound but not nearly as much as when truning left.
Which one is bad?
when you turn your wheel to the left you are adding pressure to right wheel and bearing. when you turn the wheel to the right you are relieving pressure on the the right wheel bearing. change the rt wheel bearing and you should be good to go. enjoy your weekend
